The Chief Minister, who has visited the USTM after nearly five years, was all praise for the university and assured its students that the State government will submit a proposal to North Eastern Council (NEC) to finance North East Hostel for boys and girls and an exclusive hostel for the students of Meghalaya at the university. He further said, “I am delighted to learn that a state of the art auditorium is coming up shortly at the University campus and I am sure that with this, Meghalaya will become a favorite destination for both national and international events.” Dr Sangma also stated that institutions can play a big role in attracting interest from world over.
